Belziger Strasse starts at City Hall Schoeneberg where John F. Kennedy once declared “ Ich bin ein Berliner” (I am a berliner) and where every spring the rainbow flag flies.
In Belziger street's socalled “Akazienkiez” you will find cafes, bars, restaurants and a newly renovated in- and outdoor swimming pool. It's a spiritual center with many diverse and current programs as well as possibilities for shopping of any kind, food, clothing etc., all in walking distance from the apartment.

There are additional cafes and antique shops in Grunewald- and Goltzstrasse and a big open market every Saturday at Winterfeldplatz. Every Monday and Friday is market day at City Hall at John F. Kennedy Plaza. Flea market days are Saturday and Sunday at the same location.

Directly behind City Hall lies the famous Schoeneberg Park for walking and jogging and as soon as spring weather permits, the Beer Garden Platzhirsch at the monument Golden Elk, the minigolf at the football arena, and other food and ice-cream concession stalls open for the public's enjoyment. People are multi-cultural and tolerant. Besides young families and older people you will find artists, foreigners, and average people in Berlin, making for interesting aquaintances and conversation.
